The Story:

In the quiet before the world woke, a small boy stood on the cracked sidewalk, red cape snapping in the morning wind like a flag of forgotten promises.

No villains roared from the shadows.  No city trembled.  Yet he lifted his chin to the sky and spoke the ancient words aloud, soft as dawn, strong as dawn:

I am courageous.  I am determined.  I am wise.  I am compassionate.  I am selfless.  I am incorruptible.  I am resilient.  I am inspiring.  I am just and fair.  I am hopeful.

Each sentence was a brick in an invisible fortress.  Each breath rebuilt the armor no one else could see.

The streetlights flickered off.  The first birds sang.  A neighbor’s curtain moved, someone watched, smiled, remembered their own cape tucked away long ago.

He did not wait for applause.  He did not need it.

Because the day he chose to stand, small, fierce, radiant; was the day the world quietly changed.

Not with thunder.  Not with crowds.  But with one child who believed the hero was never someone else.

It was always him.  And now it always will be.
